The red 2012 Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo signed by Stratford-native Justin Bieber sold for $40,000 on eBay on Monday.
Since all the funds raised would be used to refurbish the skate park in Stratford, Allen Komenda decided to double his own bid.
The successful, semi-retired businessman from London, Ontario felt the bid was far too low.
Komenda says that had the auction been held in Los Angeles or New York where the known car buyers and media are, the bidding would have definitely been higher.
He thanks both Justin Bieber and Frank Sandola, the owner of Stratford Hyundai, for making this happen.
The fundraiser was put together by Frank Sandola of Stratford Hyundai.
The car with Justin's signature sat in the display room out at 640 Lorne Avenue in Stratford.
