Perth County OPP tracked down three stolen vehicles over the weekend.
Early Friday, police officers were called to a residence on Line 12 where a locked Dodge Ram pickup truck had been stolen from the driveway sometime during the night. Shortly before 9:00am, the truck was located on Road 161, within one kilometer from where the truck had been stolen. The truck was completely destroyed by fire.
On Saturday, shortly after midnight, police in Listowel responded to a residence on Inkerman Street West. The owner reported the theft of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been left unlocked with the spare keys inside. A purple automobile was seen in the area at the time of the theft. At 6:20am, the stolen truck was located in a ditch along Perth Line 86 west of Listowel.
Between 10:30pm Sunday and 5:30am Monday morning, a Plymouth Voyageur minivan was stolen from parking lot at the corner of Wallace Avenue South and Elma Street East in Listowel. Prior to the owner reporting the vehicle stolen, police had already recovered it at Pentastic Motors in Howick Township where it had been used to ram a security gate allowing the theft of another vehicle. The van sustained extensive damage. The door lock as well as the ignition of the van had been damaged.
