At approximately 5:00pm on Friday, a Perth County OPP officer on patrol came upon a serious two vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Road 135 and Line 39, north of Sebringville.

Investigation determined that a Subaru had been traveling east bound on Line 39 when its driver disobeyed the stop sign and drove in front of a north bound Chevrolet Cobalt. The driver's side front corner of the Cobalt struck the front of the Subaru. Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch on the north east corner of the intersection.

The four occupants of the Cobalt as well as the lone occupant of the Subaru were transported to Stratford General Hospital. The female driver of the Cobalt was treated for minor injuries and was released while the male passenger was treated for major injuries following which he was transported to a Hamilton hospital for further treatment. Two four week old twins who were secured in properly installed car seats in the Cobalt did not sustain any injuries. The female driver of the Subaru was treated for minimal injuries and was released from hospital.

The 55 year old driver of the Subaru from North Perth has been charged with "disobey stop sign – fail to stop".

The 28 year old driver of the Cobalt from North Perth has been charged with having "improper tires".

At the time of the collision the roads were dry, it was clear, there was no precipitation, daylight and the visibility was excellent.

The Perth County OPP reminds motorists to "STOP AND LOOK" at intersections, stop signs and red lights.
